Charlie
Harris is an investor and consultant with over 30 years of experience in management, investment banking, financial and
legal roles focused on using innovation to drive business growth and shareholder value in public and private companies in
a variety of industries. He is currently Managing Director and CEO of Sylva Ventures LLC, a private investment and
strategic consulting firm based in Winter Park, Florida.
Most recently, Charlie served
as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of semiconductor manufacturer Intellon Corporation, beginning as
an investor and director of the company in 1994 and moving into management as Chairman and President in 2001 and Chief Executive
Officer in 2002. At Intellon, Charlie led a 2003 recapitalization and the 2007 IPO of the company (NASDAQ: ITLN), growing
annual revenues from $6 million to over $75 million and increasing shareholder value from under $5 million to over $250 million,
culminating with a sale to Atheros Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATHR) in December 2009. Following the merger, Charlie
served as a member of the Board of Directors of Atheros until its sale to Qualcomm, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) in May 2011.
Before joining Intellon, Charlie served as Vice Chairman of the Board and Chief Financial Officer
of publicly-traded Vistana, Inc. (NASDAQ), managing strategy, finance and resort development, and, following Vistana's
sale to Starwood Resorts and Hotels Worldwide, Inc., as Vice Chairman of Starwood Vacation Ownership, Inc. Earlier, he was
Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of publicly-traded Mid-State Federal Savings Bank (NASDAQ), where
he led a restructuring of the company and a later sale to AmSouth Bancorporation. Charlie was also Senior Vice President
and General Counsel of Sun Banks, Inc. (NASDAQ) during the company's statewide expansion. He also served as President
and Chief Executive Officer of Synagen Capital Partners, Inc., a merchant banking company, and Allen C. Ewing & Co.,
an investment banking firm.
Earlier, Charlie practiced law, focusing on securities,
mergers and acquisitions, banking and technology matters. He also served as an Assistant Professor at the University
of Florida College of Law. He is the author or co-author of three books on business negotiations and a number of articles
on business, technology, legal and ethical topics.
Charlie earned his B.A. from the
University of Florida with high honors and his J.D. from Harvard Law School cum laude.
